The Moment Of Truth: Walking Alone

The Pessimist complains about the wind, the Optimist expects it to change and the REALIST adjusts his sails.

Most times we delude ourselves into thinking that the most important people in our lives will always be there for us, will always understand our struggles and aspirations and offer us the greatest support. On the contrary, they are the most likely to disappoint us in our quest for self discovery. universalimpact.blogspot.com
They are the most likely to patiently listen to our ideas and then give advice that has nothing to do with the situation on ground!
They hardly see the merit in our little efforts or the value of our attempts at self reliance, no matter how feeble or unavailing. They think they know us. They believe we don’t know what we want so they treat us like retards. They are always the last to see what the rest of the world has come to terms with, because they are busy pointing out the path that we must follow for them. What we want does not count in the scheme of things.
Life is a lot easier and more fun when you travel in a group. People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier when they are travelling on the thrust of one another. Unfortunately however, you will discover that many times in the course of your life, you are bound to travel alone, not necessarily because you’d rather not have company but because you simply can’t find the kind of company that would add value to your present circumstance. You will discover sooner or later that most of the people you counted on will not walk the long distance with you.
So be prepared to walk alone if need be, in your quest to find your rhythm. There are times when you can change something and there are times when you cannot. But it is your attitude and your perception which determines your happiness. In life, there is simply no time for being a pessimist. The goal is to expect the best, act with your feet on the ground, and to view it all from a positive perspective.
There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU. You are the only person who can revolutionise your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realisation and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself.
Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when members of your family change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when you change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realise that you are the only one responsible for your life.
If you want new things in your life, and new energy in your life, you have to make room for them. Empty your mind of all hindering factors and links to those past experiences that are holding you bondage. Quit worrying about the future, be proactive and eventually your eyes will open to new possibilities.
Never be afraid to walk alone. It is not as scary as it sounds. It is not as easy either. But what is required, is for you to move out of your comfort zone and forge a new path towards the direction you want to go. Decisiveness is the key to moving ahead in any endeavour. Nothing is as easy as it sounds and certainly nothing is impossible with the right attitude. Nobody knows what you want as much as you do. No one else feels your pains or sees your aspirations as keenly as you.
In the final analysis, you are on your own. So get used to the idea of walking alone if your dream demands that of you!
